Have a Happy Halloween at the Annual Fall Pumpkin Festival
Pristine Pisgah Forest, NC
Weekends Only, October 5 - 26, 2013, 5:30 pm to 10 pm
Mark your calendar for a fall festival perfect for the whole family. The kids will go crazy for Stingy’s Illuminated Pumpkin Trail, brightly illuminated with impressive lights. Wind your way through the trails, and take a tour of carved craft pumpkins, hundreds of unique statues hand-carved by local artists. You will discover a 70-foot-tall Sea Serpent, Pirates Cove, Wilderness Creatures, and other spectacular scenes. Stingy Jack’s will also host a spooky hayride through the woods. Longer than last year’s ride, this excursion will carry you through the illuminated trails above the festival grounds.
Take your teenager for the Pumpkin Carving Contest, a chance to showcase some skills and win up to $1,000. Intended for ages 13 and older, you can register online and bring your own carved pumpkin to the festival. The older kids will also appreciate Stingy’s Spooky Town Trail, which leads into Stingy’s forest. But be forewarned, guests on this ride may not be in the woods alone. And, at Stingy’s Ultimate Pumpkin Chunker, the mischievous device will be launching pumpkins into the air, followed by a satisfying splat. With a bale maze, game area, entertainment, and food vendors, your can complete your fun visit to this unique pumpkin patch.
Adults will enjoy the stunning scenery of Mountains and Meadows at Turkey Pen, a western North Carolina nature gem. This site adds a fun twist to tour a popular Asheville attraction, including neighboring Pigsah Forest.
