Asheville Brewgrass Festival 2013
Saturday, September 21, 2013, 12 Noon - 7 PM
What do you get when you blend delicious local craft beers with festive and funky bluegrass music? You end up with a locally loved festival that is now 17 years strong. On September 21, 2013, just as the leaves are changing colors in the scenic parks of this picturesque mountain city, you can make your way to Martin Luther King Jr. Park for a sampling of some of this year’s best brews.
Get your taste buds ready, as this year’s festival will feature the flavors of more than 40 American breweries to showcase more than 120 beers. Whether you prefer sharp and crisp, malty and thick, stout, lager, pilsner, or pale ale, you can discover your new favorite drink and tell all your friends.
To pace yourself or, perhaps cleanse your palate, you can choose from several food vendors while you visit. Wash down a cold one with some indulgent eats to satisfy your appetite, and take advantage of the plentiful water available. While you sip a cold beer by the beautiful mountainside of Western North Carolina, you can also enjoy a full lineup of music to pair with your libations. National and regional musicians will take the stage, including the Henhouse Prowlers, Johnson’s Crossroad, the Seldom Scene, and Larry Keel and Natural Bridge. Even if you don’t know the music lyrics, you can move and groove to the unique sounds of robust mountain music culture, encompassing Appalachian Soul, Hillbilly Metal, and edgy and eclectic genres that sample all sorts of sounds.
